Russia does not intend to comply with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruling requiring Georgian citizens to pay over 250 million euros, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated. When asked about the possibility of improving Russian-Georgian relations if the payment were made, Peskov noted that the Kremlin views this issue as a separate matter.

Georgia expects a far-sighted and fair decision from Europe that will allow the country to deservedly receive candidate status. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated this during his speech at the Silk Road Forum in Tbilisi.
“We hope that Georgia’s progress will be positively assessed by the European Commission, which will open the way for us to candidate status. It is worth noting the government's achievements, such as the Association Agreement with the European Union, the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, and the visa-free regime with the EU. All this confirms the geopolitical priority, including the European perspective of Georgia,” Garibashvili noted. He also emphasized the important role of the Trans-Caspian transport route, which passes by the Russian Federation and runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and further to European countries. It carries out container transportation using rail and sea transport. According to the Prime Minister of Georgia, the country pays great attention to the development of infrastructure to strengthen its transit role.
