The Moscow Garrison Military Court has arrested Visam Ali Bardvil, a member of the Ulema Council of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia and imam of the South Butovo mosque. He was charged under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization).
In Ingushetia, plans are underway to immortalize the memory of 8-year-old Khizir Derbichev, who died while saving a friend in the Sunzha River. This was announced by the head of the republic, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov.
"I have decided to immortalize the name of the boy Khizir. His words and actions have become a symbol of courage, inner strength, and human dignity for all of us. This story contains not only pain and trials, but also something that unites people—a willingness to help, regardless of origin or borders," Kalimatov emphasized.
He noted that "specialists and volunteers from various regions worked alongside us—from neighboring republics of the North Caucasus to the Urals, Moscow, the Krasnodar Territory, and other parts of the country, as well as from abroad."
He, however, did not mention any specific steps to immortalize Khizir's name.
Kalimatov promised to assist the boy's family and thanked volunteers for their assistance in his search.
On June 15, Khizir Derbichev was swept away by the strong current of the Sunzha River while trying to rescue his friend Adam, who had slipped and fallen. Adam managed to cling to a branch, but Khizir, who rushed to help, was unable to cope with the torrent of water.
Thousands of volunteers from across the North Caucasus and other regions participated in the search for the boy. The boy's body was found on the eighth day of the search operation, June 22, in the city of Sunzha. His funeral took place a few hours later, attracting several thousand people. Following the tragic events, a proposal appeared on social media to establish June 15 as "Caucasus Unity Day."
