Georgia's former Public Defender, Ucha Nanuashvili, has been summoned to the country's State Security Service (SSS). One of the country's most senior human rights defenders, he now heads the NGO Democracy Research Institute (DRI).
In the event of a military defeat of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the North Caucasus and other dependent peoples will receive freedom and independence. This was stated by the head of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria in exile, Akhmed Zakayev, in an interview with the Ukrainian edition of Telegraf.
According to Zakayev, the peoples of the Russian Federation must do everything for Ukraine to win. He also noted that the possible collapse of Russia would not lead to a civil war. “Victory is not only the de-occupation of the territories of the Russian Federation and the liberation of many peoples. This is the payment of compensation, the prosecution of war criminals, the revision of existing principles and norms of international law. This is also a revision of the work of the UN Security Council, the United Nations itself, which demonstrates absolute toothlessness, spinelessness and failure to solve some global issues and be a guarantor of the security of states and peoples,” Zakayev concluded.
