Russia does not intend to comply with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruling requiring Georgian citizens to pay over 250 million euros, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated. When asked about the possibility of improving Russian-Georgian relations if the payment were made, Peskov noted that the Kremlin views this issue as a separate matter.

According to the security forces, while in the unrecognized republic, the man publicly justified terrorist activity in his Telegram channel, namely, "glorified the images of the leaders of illegal armed groups on the territory of the Chechen Republic." Among the latter is the Chechen field commander Shamil Basayev.
Recall that Shamil Basayev was an active participant in the Georgian-Abkhazian war (1992-1993), the commander of a detachment of Chechen volunteers. He held the post of Deputy Minister of Defense of Abkhazia. For special services, the President of Abkhazia Vladislav Ardzinba awarded him the "Hero of Abkhazia" medal. Later, Basayev became one of the leaders of the armed struggle for the independence of the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria from the Russian Federation.
