The international organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF) warns of China's gradual strengthening of its influence over Georgia's information space. According to RSF's analysis, since 2022, Beijing has not created its own media outlets in the country, but has instead operated through local platforms—primarily pro-government or pro-Kremlin.
At the European summit in Iceland, Georgia joined in the creation of a damage register for Ukraine. This agreement will allow accumulating information about the damage inflicted by the Russian authorities on Ukraine and demanding compensation and reparations in the future.
39 European countries have joined the registry agreement, as well as Canada, the US, Japan, and the European Union.
The European Union made a contribution to cover start-up costs. The registry will be located in The Hague (Netherlands), with an additional office in Ukraine.
According to the World Bank, the restoration of Ukraine, which suffered during the Russian invasion, requires at least $350 billion. According to the head of the European Commission, the damage is estimated at 600 billion euros.
