The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has published a report alleging that Georgian authorities used chemical weapons during the suppression of pro-European protests in Tbilisi in 2024. The chemical weapon in question is bromobenzyl cyanide, a chemical warfare agent dating back to World War I, also known as "kamit."
Georgia assured Ukraine of its support in the war with Russia.
Georgia, as before, supports Ukraine and its people, as well as the peaceful occupation of Abkhazia and South Ossetia by the Russian Federation. This was stated by Georgian Foreign Minister Darchiashvili during his speech at the UN General Assembly special session in New York. He also noted that his Government had provided significant assistance to Ukraine.
The United Nations General Assembly supported the resolution proposed by Ukraine and its allies calling on Russia to cease hostilities on Ukrainian territory and withdraw its troops. A total of 141 countries voted for» «Against» - only six: Belarus, Syria, North Korea, Nicaragua, Eritrea and Mali.
