Ingushetia is the only region that failed to achieve a reduction in unemployment

In 2025, Ingushetia remained the only region that failed to achieve a reduction in unemployment. This information was announced by the office of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.

Meanwhile, in ten other Russian regions participating in the implementation of government roadmaps, the average annual unemployment rate decreased.

"The average annual unemployment rate in 2025 decreased in all ten regions following the roadmap provisions. The exception was the Republic of Ingushetia, where the target was not fully achieved," the statement reads.

It clarified that the reduction in unemployment applies to the following regions: Altai, Dagestan, Kalmykia, North Ossetia, Tuva, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, Chechnya, and the Zabaykalsky Krai.

In April, Ingushetia's head, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, failed to mention the republic's high unemployment rate while reporting on the government's work for 2025. He claimed the rate had been reduced to 5.6%, compared to 6.1% in 2024.

According to Rosstat, unemployment in Ingushetia reached 25.5% of the economically active population in the fourth quarter of 2025. The average time it takes residents of the republic to find a job is six months. For comparison, the rate for Russia as a whole was 2.2%.
