Ingushetia Becomes Leader in Growth of Overdue Mortgage Debt

A sharp jump in overdue mortgage debt has been recorded in Ingushetia. Dvizhenie analysts note that the republic is among the leading regions in terms of growth of this indicator, which has more than tripled since the summer of 2024. A similar situation is observed in Tuva.

Unfavorable dynamics are also observed in other regions of the North Caucasus, in particular, in Dagestan and North Ossetia, where overdue mortgage debt has doubled. Against the background of the general negative trend, the only region where it was possible to achieve a decrease in overdue debt was the Kaliningrad Region.
Analysts predict a further increase in the share of problematic mortgages in 2025, linking this to inflation and an increase in the number of borrowers who have encountered difficulties in repaying loans taken at high interest rates. According to forecasts, the total volume of overdue payments could reach 200 billion rubles with the mortgage portfolio growing to 21 trillion rubles.
