A devastating flood in Dagestan has resulted in massive landslides, affecting more than 6,000 people and 25 communities. The disaster destroyed several roads and damaged approximately 200 homes. More than 3,000 people in the Derbent and Tsumadinsky districts were left without gas due to damaged utility lines. The main causes of the disaster are believed to be abnormally heavy rainfall, which oversaturated the soil, as well as aggravating factors such as chaotic construction and worn-out utility lines.
Erziman Bayramov, a native of Dagestan who was detained in connection with an incident during namaz in St. Petersburg, has been released from custody. This was announced by Shamil Khadulaev, a member of the Civic Chamber of the Republic of Dagestan, on his Telegram channel. He also noted the active role of the Minister of National Policy of the Republic of Dagestan, Temirlan Abutalimov, in resolving the situation from the very beginning.
On October 2, a criminal case was opened against MMA fighter Erziman Bayramov under Article 213 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Hooliganism") following a conflict with a passerby in the city of Murino in the Leningrad Region.
The incident began with a reprimand directed at Bayramov for performing namaz on the street. The athlete reportedly used force against the person making the reprimand. Members of the nationalist organization "Russian Community" arrived to assist the latter.
Bayramov claims that his opponent approached him while he was praying in a parking lot and demanded that he stop praying, citing a violation of the law "on missionary activity." The athlete also showed a knife that had fallen to the ground and speculated about the passerby's intentions.
Members of the "Russian Community" who arrived declared that "public prayer" was unacceptable in an "Orthodox state."
