Due to a lack of reserves, Abkhaz and South Ossetian formations are being transferred to the Kursk region

Abkhaz and South Ossetian volunteers have been transferred to the Kursk region to counter the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.

Among the units sent is the South Ossetian battalion "Sarmat".

"We have advanced to the line of combat contact in the Kursk region to destroy the enemy's military formations. Victory will be ours," the Ossetian battalion said in its Telegram channel.

"The Supreme Commander-in-Chief called for support for the Kursk region. We don't need to be called for long. We have arrived to help," the message from the "Wild Division of Donbass" said, commanded by Abkhaz fighter Akhra Avidzba.

According to available information, fighters from the "Georgian Legion" are participating in the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive on Russian territory.

Since August 6, Ukrainian troops have captured about 100 square kilometers of territory in the Kursk region. Fighting is taking place thirty kilometers from Kurchatov, where the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant is located, and fifteen kilometers from the large regional center of Lgov. A federal emergency situation has been declared in the region.
