The Tbilisi City Court upheld the pretrial detention in absentia for Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the "Gakharia for Georgia!" party and former Interior Minister.
Commenting on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's appeal to his American counterpart, Donald Trump, to kidnap the head of Chechnya, the latter accused the Ukrainian leader of cowardice. According to Ramzan Kadyrov, "Zelenskyy cowardly hinted that he wouldn't mind standing by and watching from a safe distance as someone else punishes his offender," rather than threatening to do so himself.
"What doesn't this devil do? He puts me on the wanted list, imposes sanctions. Now he's asking the Americans for help, saying, 'They didn't help with weapons, but at least kidnap Ramzan. Zelenskyy, at least try to be a man. If you don't, you won't succeed, but try. Save face and don't humiliate yourself. If you had a drop of manhood in you, you would understand how humiliating your words and requests sound. "And how clearly they confirm your attempts to disrupt the peace settlement," Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram channel.
Calling the Ukrainian president "past his time," he reminded him that "the enemy can enter our republic, but will not be able to leave," and rhetorically asked whether he would take the risk himself.
As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed that the US apply the same measures to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov that were applied to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in order to "make Putin think twice."
