Elena Patyaeva—a friend of Seda Suleymanova, who disappeared three years ago after being forcibly returned from St. Petersburg to Chechnya—was detained in Grozny. On August 23, Patyaeva stood by the monument to journalists who died for freedom of speech, holding a sign that read: "I demand an investigation into the murder of Seda Suleymanova." 15-year-old Adam Kadyrov, the son of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, received his fifth recent award - the Order of Merit for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. The order was presented to him personally by the head of the region, Kazbek Kokov. Kadyrov Jr. is accompanied by State Duma deputy from Chechnya Adam Delimkhanov.
This is the fifth award that 15-year-old Adam Kadyrov receives after publishing a video of the beating of Nikita Zhuravel, who is in a Chechen pre-trial detention center for burning the Koran. Previously, Adam Kadyrov was awarded the title of Hero of Chechnya, and was also awarded the Order of “Duslyk” (the second most important state award of Tatarstan), “For Services to the Karachay-Cherkess Republic” and “For Services to the Umma”, 1st degree.
