Kavelashvili announced a course for European integration, repeated all the Prime Minister's messages
The sixth president of Georgia, Mikhail Kavelashvili, who took office on Sunday, today spoke at the annual ambassadorial meeting of the heads of Georgian diplomatic missions abroad "Posly-2024". In his address, he stated that Georgia will continue the process of European integration.

"Dear diplomats, you know that Georgia is striving to become a full member of the European Union. This is the civilizational choice of our people, enshrined in our constitution, and it is as strong as ever," Kavelashvili emphasized.

He also noted that speculations on this topic are intended to increase the polarization of Georgian society, but "despite the artificial hype and powerful disinformation campaign created in the country, the process of European integration of Georgia continues."

It is noteworthy that the presidential candidate from "Georgian Dream" repeated almost all the messages of the Prime Minister of the country, Irakli Kobakhidze. In particular, in his speech, he assured that by 2028, Georgia will fulfill more than 90% of the Association Agreement, and by 2030 it will be "better prepared for joining the European Union."

At the same time, Kobakhidze reminded that Georgia is ready to start negotiations at any moment, as "the prime minister has repeatedly said."

The inauguration ceremony of Mikhail Kavelashvila took place on Sunday. We note that the opposition and his three predecessors do not recognize the legitimacy of the new president: Salome Zurabishvili, Georgy Margvelashvili, and Mikhail Saakashvili, who is in prison.
