Elena Patyaeva—a friend of Seda Suleymanova, who disappeared three years ago after being forcibly returned from St. Petersburg to Chechnya—was detained in Grozny. On August 23, Patyaeva stood by the monument to journalists who died for freedom of speech, holding a sign that read: "I demand an investigation into the murder of Seda Suleymanova." This was reported by the human rights project "Slovo Zashchite" (Word for the Defense).
The command and the court refused to pay compensation to a contractor from the Karachay-Cherkess Republic for being wounded in Ukraine
A court in Pyatigorsk, based on data from the military command, ruled that contract soldier from the Karachay-Cherkess Republic Arsen Shinov was injured in Ukraine due to a careless fall. As a result, he was denied recognition of a combat wound and compensation in the amount of 3 million rubles.
In his claim to the command, Shinov demanded that he be given a certificate of receipt of a combat injury in Ukraine, on the basis of which he could obtain 3 million rubles. He stated that he suffered a broken ankle during the fight and was therefore entitled to payment.
However, the contractor will not be compensated. His management decided that he fell while unloading boxes from the car.
