Turkish Plane Crash in Georgia May Have Occurred After Tail Section Separated

The investigation into the crash of a Turkish C-130 military aircraft on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border on November 11 of last year is ongoing. Experts from the Turkish Ministry of Defense found no traces of explosives in the wreckage.

The black box data showed that all systems were functioning properly up until the crash, and the crew reported no problems. It is believed that the crash occurred suddenly: the tail section separated during the incident, damaging the data recorder cables and interrupting the recording. Therefore, the exact cause of the accident, which claimed the lives of all 20 crew members, has not yet been determined, despite the best efforts of specialists.

On November 11, 2025, a Turkish C-130 military transport aircraft crashed in eastern Georgia. It was en route from Azerbaijan to Turkey. The Turkish Ministry of National Defense confirmed the deaths of all 20 military personnel on board. The probable cause of the crash could have been engine failure.
