Crimean Tatar political prisoners were transferred to Russian prisons

Crimean Tatars Servet Gaziev, Seitveli Seitabdiev, Eskender Suleymanov, Erfan Osmanov, Alim Karimov and Seyran Murtaza were transferred to Russian prisons. This was reported by the project “Support for Political Prisoners. Memorial".

Let us remind you that in March Seitabdiev was sentenced to 14 years in prison, Suleymanov - 15 years. A little earlier, the remaining defendants were sentenced to 13 years each. The men were found guilty under articles of participation in the activities of a terrorist organization (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code) and preparation for the seizure of power (Article 278 of the Criminal Code). Similar articles are charged for participation in the Islamic party Hizb ut-Tahrir, banned in the Russian Federation. Its members are sentenced to long terms only on the basis that they met in apartments and read religious literature.
