Crimean Tatar political prisoner seeks storage of the Koran in a pre-trial detention center

The administration of pre-trial detention center-2 of Simferopol does not issue the Koran in Arabic to 24-year-old political prisoner from Bakhchisarai Abdulmedzhit Seitumerov. This was reported by his defender Emil Kurbedinov.

“There are certain problems with the Koran in Arabic: sometimes it is issued, sometimes it is not issued. Questions arose as to whether it could be read in Arabic or only in Russian translation,” said Emil Kurbedinov.

Abdulmedzhit Seitumerov had previously been detained more than once at rallies in support of other arrested Crimean Tatars. He is accused, like most political prisoners in Crimea, of participating in the Islamic party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned in Russia. On the territory of Ukraine and most countries of the world, the organization operates without restrictions at the level of national legislation.
