Crimean Tatar political prisoner held in solitary confinement for over a month
Convicted Crimean Tatar activist Ali Fedorov has been in solitary confinement in an Udmurt colony for the second month. He told his wife that he was sent to solitary confinement four times in a row.

“Immediately upon arrival they gave me 10 days, then 15. Before the second term was over, they gave me 15 more times,” the Crimean Tatar’s wife said.

It is unknown what was the reason for his placement in solitary confinement.

Fedorov has been in the Udmurt IK-5 since November 29. Immediately after his transfer, he was placed in strict conditions. He is serving a sentence for his involvement in the Islamic party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned in the Russian Federation. In 2022, the activist was sentenced to 13 years in prison under the article on participation in a terrorist organization.

Before his arrest, Fedorov attended court hearings in Crimea on politically motivated cases, participated in information campaigns in support of Crimean Tatar political prisoners and helped their families.
