The Georgian Prosecutor's Office accused the opposition television channel TV Pirveli of spreading "further disinformation" after airing a report about Tamar Bezhuashvili, the prosecutor in the case of the attempted storming of the presidential palace. The office stated that this is the second time in the past six weeks that the channel has produced material related to the business activities of the prosecutor's father and is "completely unfoundedly" attempting to link it to her professional work.
Crimean Tatar journalist Timur Ibragimov, sentenced to 17 years, needs an eye implant replaced. The man has a third group disability. He had already complained of deteriorating vision in colony No. 5 in the village of Klekotki, Ryazan region.
An ophthalmologist who came for the first time in a year and a half noted that the implant needed to be replaced. However, given the prisoner’s situation, he recommended taking medication.
In 2020, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Timur Ibragimov to 17 years in a maximum security colony. He was found guilty under the article on organizing the activities of a terrorist organization (Part 1 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). The Islamic party “Hizb ut-Tahrir” appeared as such, which is banned in the Russian Federation, but at the same time operates absolutely legally in Ukraine and other countries of the world.
The Memorial Human Rights Center recognized the convict as a political prisoner.
