European Union Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas stated that the Georgian government's current policies are not aligned with the European Union's direction. Arriving at the EU summit in Brussels, she emphasized the EU's support for the Georgian people but expressed disagreement with the Georgian government's actions. Kallas stated that the country's leadership is leading Georgia "in the wrong direction," which is hindering the process of European integration.
Crimean Tatar citizen journalist Ruslan Suleymanov, sentenced to 14 years in prison, complained about the inaction of doctors and poor conditions of detention in pre-trial detention center No. 3 of Novocherkassk. His lawyer Svetlana Oleksenko spoke about this after meeting with him in the pre-trial detention center.
Suleymanov repeatedly turned to doctors for help due to congenital heart disease and tachycardia. The doctor came to him only once and suggested motherwort and glycine. The political prisoner refused both drugs.
The Crimean Tatar also complained that the cell was very damp; heating appeared only on October 16. Before this I had to sleep in a jacket. He is being held in solitary confinement.
Last year, Ruslan Suleymanov was sentenced to 14 years on charges of participation in the Islamic party Hizb ut-Tahrir, banned in the Russian Federation. Since January 2015, when Crimea actually came under Russian control, criminal cases began to be initiated en masse here regarding participation in Hizb ut-Tahrir. In Ukraine and European countries, the party’s activities are not prohibited.
