Crimean Tatar political prisoner complains about "unbearable conditions in the colony"

Former physical education teacher Server Zekiryaev filed a lawsuit against IK-1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service in the Tula Region in connection with the unbearable conditions of detention in the EPKT (single cell-type room). Due to gas emissions from the sewer system, the political prisoner suffers from nausea and lack of oxygen.

In addition, the administrative claim contains a complaint about the inclusion of Zekiryaev's name in the list of prisoners "prone to escape".

Since February 2023, Server Zekiryaev has been regularly placed in a punishment cell. He has also been repeatedly placed in a cell-type room. He has never been told the reasons for these measures.

The man began to have breathing problems and chronic cardiovascular failure. The prisoner also noted that he suffers from vomiting and constant dizziness.

Before his arrest, Server Zekiryaev worked as a physical education teacher and was involved in flower growing. He was found guilty of involvement in the activities of the Islamic political party Hizb ut-Tahrir and sentenced to 13 years. The organization has been banned in Russia since 2003. In Ukraine and most countries of the world, it operates without restrictions at the level of national legislation.
