Azerbaijani opposition journalist Afgan Mukhtarli commented on the house arrest and criminal prosecution of former head of the presidential administration Ramiz Mehdiyev, calling it logical and symbolic.
Crimean Tatar political prisoner spent over 1,000 days in solitary confinement

Crimean Tatar activist Teymur Abdullaev was released from the punishment cell of IK-2 in Bashkortostan after 60 days. In total, in five years in the colony, he spent 1,009 days in solitary confinement.
Earlier, Abdullaev's wife said that his health had significantly worsened due to many years of being in solitary confinement and SUS. The man suffers from constant pain in his stomach, liver, and teeth. The Crimean also lost hearing in one ear after an otitis, and his vision has deteriorated due to hypertension.
Abdullaev's mother demanded that the head of the colony's medical service examine her son. According to her, the IK-2 administration is sending cynical responses in the spirit of "we'll let you know when he dies."
In June 2019, the North Caucasus District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced brothers Teymur and Uzeir Abdullaev to 16.5 and 13 years in prison, respectively. The Crimean Tatars were arrested for their involvement in the activities of the Islamic party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is banned in Russia. In many countries, it operates without restrictions at the level of national legislation. Before his arrest, Teymur Abdullaev taught taekwondo in a sports section and raised five children.
