During the annual "Year in Review" press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin, responding to a question about support for young families, noted the tradition of early marriages in the North Caucasus. He said he believed this was "right" and suggested "following their example," citing Ramzan Kadyrov's large family.
Activist Vladlen Abdulkadyrov was taken to IK-21, which is located in the village of Iksa (Plesetsky District, Arkhangelsk Region). In his letter to his wife, he wrote about the long journey and the 23-hour stop on the train in the heat.
“My husband wrote how difficult it was to get there. An exhausting journey of hundreds of kilometers in cramped, stuffy paddy wagons and Stolypin carriages. The journey was accompanied by eight searches of personal belongings and took more than 70 hours,” said the prisoner’s wife, Gulzar Abdulkadyrova.
Earlier, the administration of the prison in the city of Yelets, Lipetsk Region, fined Vladlen Abdulkadyrov. The clinic diagnosed him with many diagnoses and he could not bear physical exertion. The prison administration regarded this as a refusal to work and fined him. The Crimean Tatar also did not go for walks for more than four months due to the lack of shoes.
Recall that at the end of March 2019, 25 civil activists were arrested in Crimea, one of them was Vladlen Abdulkadyrov. In May 2022, due to his involvement in the Hizb ut-Tahrir party, banned in the Russian Federation, the court found Abdulkadyrov guilty under articles on participation in the activities of a terrorist organization and preparation for the seizure of power. The convicted man received 12 years in prison.
