The Crimean Tatar political prisoner was sent to strict detention conditions for six months
Medzhit Abdurakhmanov was sent to a solitary confinement cell for six months. It is not known what caused the punishment.

"He said that the PKT will be contained for like six months, but for what - it is not clear. There is no connection with him at the moment, and I don't know anything else," his wife Elmira Abdurakhmanova told journalists.

Abdurakhmanov was sent to the SHIZO twice in a row after he served quarantine upon arrival at IK-9 in Chuvashia. In total, the man spent one month in the detention center.

In May 2022, Medzhit Abdurakhmanov was sentenced to 12 years in prison. He was found guilty under the articles of participation in the activities of a terrorist organization and preparation for a violent change of power. According to these articles, alleged members of the Islamic party "Hizb ut-Tahrir", banned in the Russian Federation, are sentenced.
