In July 2022, Fedorov was found guilty of membership in the Islamic political party Hizb ut-Tahrir, banned in the Russian Federation but legal in Europe. In court, he mentioned the Lebanese organization Hezbollah and the Afghan Taliban, which are included in the list of terrorist organizations in Russia, despite the fact that their representatives come to Russia on high-level visits.
