Crimean Tatar political prisoner regularly sent to solitary confinement for a year and a half

Since February 2023, Server Zekiryaev has been regularly placed in solitary confinement in IK-1 in the Tula region. He has never been told the reasons for his strict detention.

The man began to have breathing problems and developed chronic cardiovascular failure. The prisoner also added that he suffers from vomiting and constant dizziness.

Before his arrest, Server Zekiryaev worked as a physical education teacher and was involved in floriculture. In Bakhchisarai, 13 children are waiting for him at large. The man was found guilty of involvement in the activities of the Islamic political party Hizb ut-Tahrir and sentenced to 13 years. The organization has been banned in Russia since 2003. In Ukraine and most countries of the world, it operates without restrictions at the level of national legislation. It is noteworthy that the majority of convicted Crimean Tatars criticize the Russian government.

The Southern District Military Court found Islam Batsiev, a native of Dagestan, guilty of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer (Article 317 of the Russian Criminal Code) for participating in the attack on Pskov paratroopers as part of Basayev and Khattab's field detachment.
