"Lazarevsky Club" protested against the trial of Karabakh separatists in Azerbaijan
The International Russian-Armenian "Lazarevsky Club" has expressed a strong protest in connection with the trial of the former leaders of Karabakh, which is being held in Azerbaijan.

"Obviously, personal motives of the authorities of Azerbaijan and a frank thirst for revenge against the accused, who with undisguised satisfaction from the "victory" over Artsakh, are watching the massacre of the "defeated" enemies can be traced in the Baku court. We consider such a policy unworthy of a civilized state," the club's statement emphasizes.

The "Lazarevsky Club" demanded the release from custody of all Armenian prisoners and the removal of those illegally accused.

Earlier, the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, refused to comment on the trial of the Karabakh separatists under arrest in Baku.

"There is nothing to comment on. It's sad. We hope that after the trial there will be an opportunity to discuss the return and release of these people," he concluded.

Simonyan noted that "it is not "Artsakh" that speaks correctly, but "Karabakh".

Recently, the trial of representatives of the leadership of the dissolved government of Nagorno-Karabakh began in Baku. The lawyers filed a petition to change the restraining order to house arrest. On the dock are former Minister of State of Nagorno-Karabakh Ruben Vardanyan and 15 other officials, including ex-presidents of the unrecognized republic Arkady Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan and Araik Harutyunyan.
