Melikov confirmed the information about the serious injury of the Russian general

The head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov confirmed the information about the injury of the deputy commander of the North group of forces, Lieutenant General Esedulla Abachev.

Melikov said that Abachev was "seriously wounded" several days ago in one of the border areas of the Kursk region. He is currently in a military medical center, his condition is assessed as serious but stable.

Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence reported that Abachev was seriously wounded on the night of August 16-17 and was hospitalized in Moscow with the subsequent amputation of his arm and leg, but there is no official confirmation of this information.

Since February 24, 2022, Abachev participated in the war with Ukraine. In 2022, Putin awarded him the title Hero of Russia.
