A new memorial plaque has been installed on the building where Novaya Gazeta journalist Anna Politkovskaya lived and was murdered. This follows more than twenty previous instances of the plaque being destroyed by unknown assailants. Activists intend to continue their work until it is permanently preserved.
According to a RIA Novosti study, gasoline availability varies greatly across Russian regions. Moscow, Chukotka, and Yamal lead in the amount of fuel available for the average monthly salary, with the figure exceeding 2,000 liters of AI-92.
The lowest gasoline availability is recorded in Ingushetia (601 liters), Dagestan (612 liters), and Chechnya (640 liters). These regions rank last in the country for this indicator. Other regions with the lowest availability include Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (722 liters), North Ossetia (742 liters), and Karachay-Cherkessia (750 liters). Overall, the average salary in Russia can buy 1,393 liters of gasoline.
Among the subjects of the North Caucasus Federal District, the most expensive AI-92 gasoline is in Dagestan (68.9 rubles per liter), which also saw the most significant annual price increase (24.2%). The cheapest gasoline in the North Caucasus Federal District is in North Ossetia (61.46 rubles per liter), and the smallest price increase is in Stavropol Krai (10.6%).
