The Rostov Region was among the areas targeted by Ukrainian drones on the night of November 8. According to a morning update from the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian air defense forces intercepted or destroyed a total of 142 drones overnight across nine regions, occupied Crimea, and the waters of two seas.

French investigating judges have ordered the case against Mohammed Mogouchkov to be referred to a special assize court. Three years have passed since the attack on a school in Arras. Mogouchkov, who was born in Ingushetia, was 20 at the time of the attack. He is accused of murdering teacher Dominique Bernard and attempting to murder other members of the school staff. He faces a possible life sentence if convicted.

Rostov Region came under a drone attack overnight. According to Governor Yury Slyusar, air defence systems shot down more than 50 drones over six districts. In the morning, a fire broke out at a warehouse belonging to Simplex, a company that supplies polymer raw materials and plastic packaging. The warehouse is located at 16a Tupolev Street in Rostov-on-Don, the independent Russian outlet Astra reports.

Ali Karimli, leader of Azerbaijan’s Popular Front Party, has been named the 2026 recipient of the Magnitsky Award in the category of Outstanding Political Opposition Figure. The award recognises his longstanding political activities. Karimli is currently standing trial on charges of attempting to seize power by force.
