The Minister of Defense of Ukraine met with his Turkish counterpart

Turkish Defense Minister Yashar Güler received his Ukrainian colleague Rustem Umerov in Ankara. He is also a member of the Kurultai of the Crimean Tatar people and an adviser to Mustafa Dzhemilev.

On August 1, Rustem Umerov took part in the ceremony of launching the second Ukrainian corvette of Turkish production, Hetman Ivan Vigovsky. According to Ukrainian media, the event was not announced in advance due to security measures.

Construction of the vessel began on August 18, 2023. The first corvette "Hetman Ivan Mazepa" has already begun acceptance tests.
