Drone attack in the Don region damages agricultural greenhouses and ignites dry grass

On the morning of October 4, Rostov Region Governor Yury Slyusar reported that approximately 100 UAVs were destroyed overnight while repelling an aerial attack on the region. The drones were downed across 12 districts—Belokalitvinsky, Kamensky, Kasharsky, Matveyevo-Kurgansky, Millerovsky, Milyutinsky, Neklinovsky, Oblivsky, Tarasovsky, Tatsinsky, Chertkovsky, and Sholokhovsky—as well as in the cities of Rostov and Kamensk. According to the governor, there were no reports of casualties, though there was damage on the ground.

"In the Tarasovsky district, the glazing of greenhouses at an agricultural enterprise was damaged. Dry grass caught fire nearby; the blaze, covering an area of ​​400 square meters, was promptly extinguished. In the settlement of Chistyakovo (Sovetsky rural district), a fire involving dry grass over an area of ​​35 square meters was also put out," Slyusar wrote on his Telegram channel.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that, during the night of October 4, the country's air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 559 Ukrainian drones. According to the ministry, the drones were shot down over 14 Russian regions and occupied Crimea, as well as over the waters of the Black and Azov Seas. In addition to the Don region, other southern areas targeted in the attack included the Astrakhan Region, Adygea, and Krasnodar Krai.
