The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic officially ceases to exist in 2024

The Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh ceases to exist on January 1, 2024. The corresponding decree was signed by its head Samvel Shahramanyan.

The decision was made taking into account the situation that developed after September 19, 2023 (the start of “anti-terrorist measures” on the part of Azerbaijan), noted the NK Information Headquarters.
In accordance with the decree, all government institutions and organizations will be dissolved.

The Karabakh Armenian population, after becoming familiar with the conditions of reintegration with Azerbaijan, has the right to make an independent decision on the possibility of staying in the region. According to the Armenian authorities, over 65 thousand residents of Nagorno-Karabakh have left the country. In total, 140 thousand people lived in the region.
