The North Caucasus Federal District has the lowest gasoline affordability in Russia

Residents of the North Caucasus experience the lowest gasoline affordability in Russia. Specifically, Ingushetia ranked last in terms of how much gasoline citizens can afford on the average monthly salary, offering only 638 liters.

Other republics of the North Caucasus Federal District also ranked near the bottom of the rankings. In Chechnya, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia, and Karachay-Cherkessia, the average monthly salary can buy between 670 and 760 liters of gasoline.

Analysts attribute this low ranking to a combination of higher fuel prices than the national average and relatively modest income levels.
Stavropol Krai ranks 74th out of 85, offering residents the ability to buy 872 liters of fuel on the average monthly salary.

Across Russia as a whole, the average monthly salary allows for the purchase of approximately 1,400 liters of gasoline. Moscow, as well as the Chukotka and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs, top the rankings, with prices ranging from 2,400 to 2,500 liters. Fuel prices nationwide have increased by 12.5% year-on-year.
