A kilometer from a stationary checkpoint on the outskirts of the city of Urus-Martan on the road leading to Alkhazurovo, unknown people attacked the POM employees stationed in this village: from the garden of the state farm named after. Michurin on the UAZ car in which they were traveling, fire was opened from automatic weapons. The policemen took up positions and began to shoot back. Subdivisions of the federal forces with armored vehicles were sent to the battlefield. But the attackers fled, having killed before that a policeman and a military man sent to help.

Russian units blocked the area from which the shooting was carried out and opened fire on it from infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers. About 100 shells were fired towards the village of Michurin. Two shells hit residential buildings: one hit Shamaev's house, and the second hit under the window of A. Nasaev's house. Shells exploded in the air and on the ground. Several are in the garden of Suliman Magomadov.

The military later combed the blockaded gardens. At the same time, they fired indiscriminately. Because of this, the workers of the state farm were forced to quit harvesting straw and flee from the field. Michurin. Two shepherds from Goisky had to leave their herd and take refuge in the territory of their village.

After combing the gardens, the military blocked the village. Michurin. Up to 40 infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers were brought up to it. At about 11 o'clock the "cleansing" began. The men of the settlement were gathered on its southern outskirts. The military checked the documents and took fingerprints from everyone. One of them, Ismail Movldiyevich Isaev, born in 1981, was detained: instead of a passport, he had a certificate issued by the Zavodskiy OVD in Grozny. He was charged with living without a propiska, although he was registered with the village administration as a forced migrant. In the village Michurin is home to his father, Movldy Isaev, an invalid from Chernobyl who uses a wheelchair and needs constant care. Ismail Isaev looked after him. At the request of local residents not to detain Ismail, an officer of the VOVD of the Urus-Martan district suggested that someone else voluntarily replace him, motivating the need for detention by the fact that they (“federals”) needed information.

The men were kept in the clearing until 18:00. They were not allowed to go to the toilet, they were not provided with water to drink. All this time they were in the sun. In response to the demands of the people to let them go, it was proposed that someone take over the attack on the UAZ and the murder of two law enforcement officers.

In the meantime, the houses and outbuildings in the besieged settlement were thoroughly inspected. No one was let in or let out. Toward evening, after much persuasion, the military let a welder from the state farm named after V.I. Michurin A. Nasaev and tractor driver T. Akhmadov, who were returning from work. But they could not get to their homes: they were attached to the men who were still kept on the outskirts of the village.

At 18:00 Russian law enforcement officers unblocked the settlement and left. Ismail Isaev they took away with them.

In the morning of the next day, the relatives of the detainee came to the building of the VOVD of the Urus-Martan district. The head of the village administration also arrived here, who, at the request of the police officers, wrote a characterization of the young man. But he still wasn't released. The relatives still had hope that Ismail Isaev would be released by 18:00 on August 17, since by that time the third day would have expired from the moment he was brought to the VOVD. But this did not happen either - the policemen demanded a machine gun for the release. When asked where to get weapons that they don’t have, an employee of the temporary department advised to “find”. According to him, it was not difficult to do this in Chechnya.

At dawn on August 17, employees of the regional power structures took away Khumid Magomedovich Dzhambetov, born in 1953, from the village. At the same time, they did not tell anyone who was detaining him, in connection with what and where he would be taken. For several hours, nothing was known about the whereabouts of this man. But in the afternoon of the same day he was released from the district VOVD building.

Ismail Isaev, according to relatives, spent 10 days in custody. The policemen, as it turned out, kept him as a "homeless person", that is, as a person without a fixed place of residence.

In the village of Avtury, Russian military men in masks, moving in three armored personnel carriers and a Ural car, carried out a “cleansing operation”. The operation was accompanied by robberies. Without any grounds, for example, Isa Aduev was detained, and his cars - "Gazelle" and foreign cars - were confiscated. On Lenina Street, the military detained four young people. Valuables were stolen and a VAZ-2109 car was stolen from the Shovkhaevs' house. Local residents claimed that all these actions were carried out by employees of a unit stationed between the city of Shali and the village of Serzhen-Yurt (on the right side of the highway), which is part of DON-2. And it happened all the time.

In the morning, a powerful explosion thundered near the village of Starye Atagi. In response, the servicemen of the 205th separate motorized rifle brigade, who shortly before that had settled down in a field on the western outskirts of the settlement, opened fire indiscriminately. 50-year-old Zayndi Movtaev received a shrapnel wound; the house of Rezvan Yandarbiyev and the houses of his neighbors were damaged on Shosseinaya Street; six cows belonging to the villagers were killed. Miraculously, two teenagers riding a motorcycle escaped death. In the yard of the Solsaevs, a pram, in which a two-year-old child was sitting, was pierced by a fragment.
