Violation of the rights of a Crimean Tatar political prisoner recognized as legal

The court rejected the appeal of the Crimean political prisoner Server Mustafayev against the decision in the claim against the pre-trial detention center-1 of Ryazan for violation of his rights. The Koran and medicines were taken away from him, and he was not allowed to speak the Crimean Tatar language during calls with his family. Lawyer Lilya Gemedzhi intends to file a cassation appeal.

Previously, employees of the colony in Tambov repeatedly placed Server Mustafayev in a punishment cell. He could not contact his relatives.

Server Mustafaev is the coordinator of the public association “Crimean Solidarity”, which provides legal, informational and social assistance to the families of Crimean political prisoners. In 2020, the Southern District Military Court sentenced him to 14 years in prison on charges of participation in the Islamic party Hizb ut-Tahrir. It is prohibited in the Russian Federation, but operates freely in Ukraine and other countries of the world and Europe.
