Opposition figure Gulu Mammadli stated that the arrest of Ali Karimli, leader of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), was expected, but the reasons go beyond simple criticism of the authorities. NATO urges Georgia to support sanctions against Russia
The North Atlantic Alliance expects Georgia to implement international sanctions. “We expect non-NATO countries, including Georgia, to comply with the sanctions that make it harder for Russia to wage a war of conquest against Ukraine,” NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.
During a discussion at the annual Brussels Forum, Stoltenberg reminded Georgia of Russia's occupation of its territories - Abkhazia and South Ossetia. He also noted that countries such as Georgia are trying to resist Russian aggression. That is why the decision was made to increase assistance to these countries, and Georgia is the most illustrative example.
