Despite the order to dismiss, a contract soldier from Dagestan was sentenced to five and a half years

The Southern District Military Court upheld the verdict of the lower court against contract soldier from Dagestan Sabir Alimirzaev. He was sentenced to 5.5 years for leaving his place of service without permission.

According to investigators, Alimirzaev obtained a dismissal order in July 2022 after the expiration of the contract. However, after the start of mobilization in September of the same year, he was refused. From that moment on, Alimirzaev was considered to have violated the law, because. left his military unit without permission. In court, the man insisted that re-enrollment in the unit was illegal, but the courts found him guilty.
