New criminal case opened against alleged participants in the hostage-taking in the Rostov pretrial detention center
Five defendants in the case of hostage-taking in the Rostov-on-Don pretrial detention center are suspected of preparing a terrorist attack in Ingushetia. This was reported by the press service of the UFSB for the Rostov Region.
 
A criminal case was opened against Ramazan Albekov, Magomed Alkhanov, Malik Gandaloev, Daniil Kamnev and Adam Kodzoev.
 
“After the hostage-taking in the Rostov pretrial detention center on June 16, 2024, they planned to leave for the territory of Ingushetia. After which they would join local members of illegal armed groups. Using the weapons they received, the defendants planned to commit a number of sabotage and terrorist acts,” the report says.
 
The press service noted that a total of 9 people took part in the attempted terrorist attack in the Rostov pretrial detention center and the hostage-taking. Four of them were killed - Tamerlan Gireyev, Shamil Akiev, Magomed Saipudinov and Magomed Magomedov.
 
Later, the Memorial Human Rights Center reported that in Taganrog's pretrial detention center 2, prisoners from the North Caucasus, including Magomed Alkhanov and Malik Gandaloev, who were transferred there after the hostage-taking in Rostov, were being tortured.
 
Recall that on June 16, 2024, several prisoners in the Rostov pretrial detention center took two hostages from among the FSIN employees. The prisoners demanded transportation and the opportunity to leave the detention center.
