Armenia's defense budget for 2025 to increase by 20%
The draft state budget of Armenia for next year envisages an increase in defense spending by 20% - up to approximately $1.7 billion. This is stated in the draft state budget, which was approved at a government meeting and will be submitted to parliament for further discussions.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov commented on the militarization of Armenia.

"Armenia's sharp increase in the military budget, the acquisition of a larger number of offensive weapons from traditional and new suppliers are disrupting the process of normalizing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations," Bayramov noted at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly. In his speech, he again called on Yerevan to amend the constitution to conclude a peace agreement. At the same time, he noted that over the past year, Azerbaijan and Armenia have made significant progress in the process of normalizing relations, in particular in the issue of border delimitation and demarcation.
