One of the defendants in the case of Abdulmumin Hajiyev declared his innocence

Today in the Southern Military Court in Rostov-on-Don, one of the defendants in the case of the Dagestan journalist Abdulmumin Gadzhiev, Kemal Tambiev, who is also accused of financing terrorism, spoke. Based on his speech, the prosecution witnesses themselves refute the crimes imputed by the investigation. The defendant pleaded not guilty and denied funding ISIS and other banned organizations.

Recall that Tambiev and journalist Abdulmumin Gadzhiev, editor of the "Religion" section of the Dagestan newspaper "Chernovik", have been held in a pre-trial detention center for more than 4 years. They were charged with "participation in the activities of terrorist organizations" and "organizing the financing of terrorism." Lawyer Abubakar Rizvanov also appears in the case.

Earlier, the prosecutor asked for 19 years in prison for Hajiyev and two other defendants. At the same time, all examinations of the journalist's articles did not reveal anything illegal in them, let alone related to terrorism. None of the witnesses for the prosecution was able to provide incriminating information.
