One of the convicted in the case of the murder of Boris Nemtsov was transferred to a Chechen colony

Khamzat Bakhayev, sentenced to 11 years in the case of the murder of politician Boris Nemtsov, through the court obtained a transfer from the colony of the Kirov region to the IK-2 Chernokozovo in Chechnya. His relatives live in the republic.

At first, Bakhayev appealed directly to the FSIN, but the department refused to transfer him. Then the prisoner filed a lawsuit. As a result, the court found that being in the Kirovo-Chepetsk colony in the Kirov region deprived the plaintiff of the opportunity to maintain personal ties with his family, and ordered a review of the decision. In the end, the FSIN agreed with this argument. Then Bakhayev complained that the execution of the court's decision took too long. He demanded compensation in the amount of 100 thousand rubles, but he was refused.

Boris Nemtsov was shot dead on February 27, 2015 in Moscow. In 2017, five natives of Chechnya were sentenced to long prison terms. These were Zaur Dadaev, who was found to be the direct perpetrator of the murder, brothers Anzor and Shadid Gubashev, as well as Temirlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhaev. Those who ordered the crime have not been officially found.
