Chechnya's Ombudsman Calls on Law Enforcement Agencies to Respond to Ethnic Discord in Relation to North Caucasians

The Chechen Human Rights Commissioner Mansur Soltayev called on the prosecutor's office and law enforcement agencies to pay attention to the problem of inciting ethnic discord. He notes that this is especially often observed on social networks by nationalists in relation to North Caucasians.

"Any minor crime committed is distorted, and thus they are trying to discredit us once again. Crimes can be committed by people of any nationality, and focusing on only one group will not help prevent them. I urge everyone to be attentive and responsible in this matter," Soltayev said.

According to him, with the beginning of the "SVO", the authority of Caucasians has risen significantly, because they, along with all the peoples of Russia, defend the greatness and integrity of the country.

"And here we go again, we need to do some work, we need to create conflicts, sow hatred in the hearts of citizens of the Russian Federation towards people from the North Caucasus. What are you doing? Why are you doing this? Today, as long as we are united, no one can break us. We must defend our Motherland as a single fist. This is our country - all citizens of the Russian Federation who live on the territory of the state. This is our country, and we must still understand this," the human rights activist concluded.
