The Kyiv District Court of Simferopol remanded four Crimean Tatar women: Esma Nimetulayeva, Elviza Aliyeva, Nasiba Saidova, and Fevziye Osmanova, in pretrial detention for two months. The hearing was held behind closed doors, with limited access for support.

The UN Human Rights Office demands from the Azerbaijani authorities the release of civil activist and economist Gubad Ibadoglu. “We are very concerned about the news that the imprisoned oppositionist and scientist Gubad Ibadoglu is seriously ill. We call on the government to release him and provide him with adequate and appropriate treatment,” the UN Human Rights Office said in a statement.
Earlier, a statement in support of the oppositionist was signed by the international human rights organizations Human Rights Watch and Human Rights House Foundation, the same demand was voiced by the governments of the United States and European countries.
Recall, Gubad Ibadoglu was detained on July 23 and charged with possession of counterfeit money. Earlier, he criticized the Azerbaijani authorities, initiated the confiscation of property from officials.
