Refusal of the summons turned into a fine of 100 thousand for a resident of the KChR

A conscript from Karachay-Cherkessia, Rezuan Bostanov, refused to take the summons and was fined 100,000 rubles for evading the army. This is reported by the media project “Kavkaz. Realities".

According to investigators, in the military commissariat of the Zelenchuk and Urup districts, Bostanov was assigned the category "B-4". This means that a medical examination revealed an illness that did not prevent him from being drafted into military service. According to the case file, in the spring of 2023, the young man flatly refused to receive two summonses in the presence of the military registration and enlistment office.

Bostanov asked to consider his case in a special manner, involving a simplified procedure for making a court decision with the consent of the accused with the charge. In this case, the court imposes a punishment not exceeding two-thirds of the maximum. The article on draft evasion for military service provides for a fine of up to 200 thousand rubles or imprisonment for up to two years. That is, the sentence handed down to Bostanov can be called very loyal.

In the context of a full-scale war with Ukraine, the State Duma of the Russian Federation continues to tighten the legislation on conscription for military service. In early August, the President signed a law on raising the upper limit of the draft age for military service to 30 years. In addition, already this fall, the maximum fine for mobilization draft evasion may reach 500 thousand rubles, and the maximum criminal term - 5 years.
