Pashinyan on the military parade in Yerevan: This is not a rejection of the peace agenda, but a "report to the citizens."

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced a military parade for May 28, the First Republic Day. Acknowledging that the parade could be perceived as a rejection of the peace agenda, he emphasized: "This is not so much a parade as a report to the citizens of Armenia." The head of government assured that the authorities are working with international partners to avoid such a perception.

Speaking about the draft new Constitution, Pashinyan expressed readiness to hold repeat referendums. According to him, a new Constitution that will not contain references to the Karabakh Declaration of Independence is necessary for the creation of a stable state. The prime minister added that if the draft is rejected in the referendum, the authorities intend to continue dialogue and outreach before a new vote.

Regarding a possible meeting with the Russian president, Pashinyan noted that due to the election campaign, his participation in EAEU events is currently uncertain. He also said that Armenia theoretically does not object to the transfer of management of the South Caucasus Railway (SCR), which belongs to the Russian Federation, to a Kazakh company, subject to the consent of the Russian side.
