Russia has stated its readiness to consider joining the TRIPP project (the transport corridor between Armenia and Azerbaijan). Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova announced at a briefing that Moscow is interested in participating and is prepared to offer Russian Railways' expertise for the project's implementation.
Armenia can no longer count on Russia's protection from problems. The state has a long way to go to consider Western countries as a guarantor of its security. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this in an interview with Politico.
According to the official, Russian peacekeepers are not coping with their task in Karabakh, since the problematic situation in the Lachin corridor remains. “I cannot say that the support and assistance we receive is sufficient to achieve our goals and implement our plans. Our strategy is to try in this situation to minimize dependence on others,” Pashinyan noted.
Recently, Armenia conducted small military exercises with the US Army on its territory. This, like the visit of Pashinyan’s wife to Ukraine, caused a negative reaction in the Kremlin.
