During the annual "Year in Review" press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin, responding to a question about support for young families, noted the tradition of early marriages in the North Caucasus. He said he believed this was "right" and suggested "following their example," citing Ramzan Kadyrov's large family.
Poland extradited a Chechen refugee to Russia
Polish border guards handed over Chechen native Alvi Akiyev to their Russian colleagues. In Russia, a criminal case was opened against him for participating in an illegal armed group in Syria, and he is threatened with torture and imprisonment.
Alvi Akiyev spent several years in a Polish immigration prison. Then he was released. After the start of the "SVO", the Polish authorities concluded that it was dangerous to extradite Akiyev to Russian justice. However, he was then arrested on charges of illegal presence in the country. He could have been expelled administratively.
Earlier, rallies were held in the Austrian capital Vienna near the Polish embassy. Participants protested against the deportation of the Chechen refugee.
