Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has commented on Armenia’s plans to begin preparing an application to join the European Union, saying Yerevan would ultimately fail to secure EU membership but could seriously damage its relations with Russia and other members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
A representative of the Polish Government offered to send doctors for examination and treatment to ex-President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili in detention. Warsaw awaits the consent of the Georgian side.
Previously, Poland offered to treat Saakashvili at home, but Tbilisi refused. Recall that the ex-president lost tens of kilograms of weight due to the hunger strike and suffers from a number of diseases, including neurological and mental disorders. From October 2021 he served a six-year sentence in prison.
«The European Parliament is doing everything to rescue its agent Saakashvili and get him out of prison», Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili said the day before. According to him, this will not happen as the government cannot violate the law and the constitution.
