A resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic who was wounded four times in the SVO was denied compensation
The Baksan District Court of Kabardino-Balkaria rejected Astemir Khakyashev's claim against the Ministry of Defense. He tried to obtain compensation in the amount of 12 million rubles for four wounds in the SVO, but he was told that he was not a serviceman.

Khakyashev had previously served time in a penal colony for theft and was recruited to participate in hostilities. He received two shrapnel wounds to the chest and knee, then he was wounded in the temporal region, and then in the left thigh.

The Ministry of Defense refused to issue certificates of injuries, despite the availability of medical documents. The basis for this was the special status of the Storm-Z mercenaries, who are not considered official military personnel. Khakyashev tried to sue for 3 million for each wound, but he was denied.
